Santa Catalina is a black sandy beach located just outside the city centre. It’s about 2 kilometres in length and is very popular during the summer months (June to October).

For the rest of the year, it’s mainly used by surfers, who come here for the top class wind and wave conditions.

Santa Catalina is a rural beach with fine black sand, restaurants, and beach bars. It’s also cleaned regularly. The ocean surge is moderate and it can be quite windy.
