Agulo is one of the smallest villages on the island. It dates back to the 1620’s. It’s divided into two parts (upper and lower) that are distinctly different from each other.

The main neighborhoods in Agulo are El Charco, Las Casas and La Montañeta.

Take a stroll up to the lookout point at Abrante. From here you can see spectacular views out to Mount Teide and Tenerife.

You can also go the Garajonay National Park Visitors' center from here. It’s located in Juego de Bolas, in La Palmita area.

The building is well equipped with three exhibition rooms and can provide you with all the information you need on the park and the island itself. It’s got panels, photos, screens, maps…everything!

Outside the building there are some beautiful gardens, growing all kinds of Canarian flora, many of which are indigenous to La Gomera. Some of these plants have been used as medicines on La Gomera for centuries; they don’t just look pretty!

Also well worth a visit is the ethnographical museum. It houses all kinds of historical and cultural artifacts like working tools, a wine store-room and even the inside of a peasant's house…

There’s also a handicrafts workshop here where you can see real weaving, wicker-work, clay and ristra all done right in front of you.
